Dyeing to Knit
We are two graphic design majors who are falling in love with knitting. We always have a project to talk about and stories from school or jobs. We have expanded our knitting to dyeing as well and want to share our experiences. Enjoy!

Wait Wait..... Don’t Tell Me
On February 28, 2009 show Mo Rocca had to apologize to all the angry Ravelers for saying “knitted sweaters are always itchy.” His apology went something like this, “Last week I used insensitive and inflammatory language including the “I” word to describe homemade sweaters I sincerely regret offending anyone even if there is an explanation. You see 20 years ago when I was an exchange student in Kito I stayed with a host family of alpaca farmers. The Garcia family was never less than gracious their home was small so I was forced to bunk with there teenage son Chicho and so for month afterwards I couldn’t stop scratching myself. None of this makes my recent comments any less offensive, so please accept my apology.
Ravelry.com received a shout out for the group of knitters that has agreed to join together and knit Mo Rocca a sweater which on the show he agreed to model whatever sweaters were sent to him! On the Ravelry group it looks like the knitters will be presenting the sweater on April 9th so tune in to NPR!!!

Knitting/Spinning related Vocabulary of the Week
Rolag - a roll of fiber generally used to spin woolen yarn. A rolag is created by first carding the fiber, using handcards, and then by gently rolling the fiber off of the cards. If properly prepared, a rolag will be uniform in width, distributing the fibers evenly.

One month later we are back It has been quite a month to say the least.
There was a crazy last week of school including me nearly losing all of a final. Then there was an ice-storm and people lost power for up to six days! Then I was on vacation with questionable internet connection.
